Dubliner Aidan Harris Igiehon has finally announced where he will be playing college basketball next season when he revealed that he has chosen the University of Louisville today.
Igiehon who is from Clondalkin started playing basketball when he was 12 years of age and his development while playing in the capital saw him secure a scholarship to play high school basketball in New York.
Igiehon had no shortage of offers on the table as in addition to Louisville, Oregon, St John’s and Kentucky were also keen on his signature.
The day has come.

“It’s one thing to be wanted and another thing to be needed and I kind of felt like I was needed when I went on my visit,” Igiehon said. “Coach Mack showed me the roster and the blueprint he had set up. When I went on my official the city embraced me and they kind of like exploded the second I was there.”
“My other officials were nice but the Louisville visit was crazy,” he added. “Fans everywhere going crazy and with the basketball team, it’s just the beginning. The ability of them to develop players, their staff is well-equipped to develop a player such as myself.”
The ‘Dublin Hulk’ will be eligible to be drafted into the NBA in 2020 and he must play at least one year of college basketball.
