Wales Coach Warren Gatland Make Five Changes In Starting XV To Face South Africa

Wales coach Warren Gatland has made a handful of changes for this weekend’s clash against the Springboks – including a debut at centre.

That particular honour goes to Hadleigh Parkes. The 30-year-old New Zealand native, at Scarlets since 2014, has qualified under residency law and comes in for Owen Williams to partner his namesake Scott.

Elsewhere, Toby Faletau starts at number eight having been granted permission by Bath to do so (despite the prospect of a fine), but Jamie Roberts has returned to Harlequins ahead of their Premiership fixture this weekend.

Elsewhere, Cory Hill starts in the second row, replacing Jake Ball, while there are two changes in the front row with Kristian Dacey and Scott Andrew coming in for Ken Owens and Tomas Francis respectively in a squad that his been hit by injuries and unavailability.

Aled Davies comes in at scrum-half to replace Rhys Webb; the Ospreys man went off in last weekend’s defeat to New Zealand with a head injury, though he is considered fit enough at this time to be named among the replacements.

The wingers and full back remain the same, with Leigh Halfpenny keeping his place at the latter in the wake of Liam Williams’ injury/club return.
