Montpellier took another step to securing top spot in the Top 14 and top seeding for the playoffs after beating Racing 92 41-3 yesterday at the Altrad Stadium.
The home side lead 13-3 at halftime before a powerful second-half performance which yielded tries from Jan Serfontein, Nicolaas Janse van Rensburg, Timoci Nagusa and Louis Picamoles confirmed the one-sided victory.
Such a performance would suggest that the Montpellier squad are in an excellent place, both on and off the pitch but before the game kicked off, Bismarck du Plessis and Mohamed Haouas were seen coming to blows during the warm-up. The pair exchanged several punches before teammates had to separate them.

It didn’t seem to effect the mentality of the players as they destroyed their opponents to stretch their lead over Racing 92 to eight points in the Top 14 table.
