Stuart Olding is on the verge of signing with a top Premiership club according to a report today.
Olding and Paddy Jackson have had their contracts revoked immediately by the IRFU and Ulster Rugby as a result of a review into their Whatsapp messages which were made public after the high-profile trial where both men were found not guilty on all charges.
It was deemed that the pair were in breach of the IRFU and Ulster Rugby’s core values of the game – Respect, Inclusivity and Integrity.
As a result, both players are now without a club but considering they are both quality players and have experience playing international rugby, there will be many clubs around Europe who will be interested in signing them.
According to a report in The Sunday World today, Olding is close to signing with reigning Premiership champions, the Exeter Chiefs. The report says that Olding is ‘on the brink’ of signing with Rob Baxter’s side but that the club has distanced themselves from reports that they are also interested in signing Jackson.
In Jackson’s case, it is reported that he is in talks with signing for an unknown Top 14 club, with an announcement on his future expected to be made in the coming weeks.
