Exeter Chiefs Coach Distances The Club From Signing Stuart Olding

Exeter Chiefs’ forwards coach Rob Hunter has distanced the club from making a move for Stuart Olding.

Olding was heavily linked with the Premiership champions last week with some reports stating that deal was ‘on the brink’ of being completed.

However, in the wake of the Chiefs’ 5-45 thrashing of London Irish which has guaranteed themselves a home semi-final in the Aviva Premiership play-offs, Hunter was quizzed on the reports and he dismissed the speculation surrounding the club and Olding, according to the club’s website.

Replying to queries on the link between the club and the former Ulster centre, Hunter said: “I can tell you what I know, which is absolutely nothing.

“It’s not something that we’ve discussed in the office.

“So it’s another one of those where we’ve been linked to somebody but we’ve not spoken to an agent and we’ve not spoken to a player.

“It’s not on our radar at all. We get linked to lots of players, it’s just not on our radar, it’s nothing to do with us really.”

The Chiefs finish their regular season with a home clash with Sale Sharks before travelling to the Stoops to face Harlequins on the final day.
