Wales coach Rob Howley has released Lions duo Taulupe Faletau and Alex Cuthbert back to their clubs this weekend as the Six Nations takes a short break before returning next weekend.
Faletau and Cuthbert, who both played during Wales’ 21-16 loss to England last weekend, join 12 other Welsh players who have also been released by Howley for this weekend’s games.
Faletau will return for Bath against Harlequins in the Aviva Premiership on Saturday while Cuthbert has been named on the wing for Cardiff’s home game with Benetton Treviso at the Cardiff Arms Park on Saturday.
Elsewhere, Nicky Smith, Scott Baldwin, Rhodri Jones, Rory Thornton, James King, Sam Davies and Olly Cracknell will all be available to Steve Tandy for the Ospreys crucial game against Munster at the Liberty Stadium, while Aled Davies and Steff Evans will both be made available to the Scarlets for their home game with Zebre on Friday.
Meanwhile Scott Andrews and Kristian Dacey will also be available to Cardiff while the Newport Gwent Dragons will be boosted by the returns of Cory Hill and Ashton Hewitt for their trip to Galway to face Pat Lam’s Connacht.
