Sir Clive Woodward’s England XV For Samoa Clash Shows Strength In Depth At Eddie Jones’ Disposal

Sir Clive Woodward has picked his team for England’s final autumn international against Samoa on Saturday, which shows England’s real strength in depth.

In the video which can be seen on SkySports.com, 2003 World Cup winning coach Woodward opts for plenty of changes up front. In come Leicester Tigers youngster Ellis Genge, Jamie George, and Exeter Chiefs tight-head Harry Williams, in an exciting new front row.

Man of the Match Joe Launchbury who put in an outstanding 19 tackles against the Aussies stays at second-row, with Maro Itoje who replaced Sam Underhill in the first-half on Saturday, starting at lock with Courtney Lawes packing down on the blindside.

Woodward goes for exciting Chiefs backrower Sam Simmonds, who made his debut off the bench against Argentina and who made another cameo off the bench on Saturday, at eight with Sam Underhill making his third straight start for England at seven if he recovers from the knock he took to his head.

Danny Care who made a big impact off the bench starts at nine, with Owen Farrell partnering him at ten in an all-new half-back pairing. While the versatile Henry Slade returns at 12 with Jonathan Joseph, who scored on Saturday, staying at 13.

With Daly, Watson and May forming an unchanged back-three which is sure to pose Samoa plenty of problems in what promises to be an entertaining clash between the sides.
