Hammer Blow For Wales As Jonathan Davies Ruled Out For Extended Period

After just one test in their international season, Wales have been dealt a huge setback with the news that Jonathan Davies is set for an extended spell on the sidelines.

The star centre was brought ashore during the loss to Australia last weekend, and will now face up to six months out of action.

This is a significant setback for Warren Gatland, who is preparing his side for three mammoth tests against Georgia, New Zealand and South Africa.

The Scarlets midfielder has seen his stock rise in recent times, putting in a huge shift in New Zealand over the summer to help the Lions to a series draw with the All Blacks.

The 29-year-old now looks likely to miss the Six Nations Championship as well, which is a major disruption to the Welsh season.

Next up for Wales is Georgia at the Principality Stadium on Saturday, a team they will face in the 2019 World Cup. As Gatland continues to prepare his troops for rugby’s showpiece event, he will be banking on a fully fit Davies around whom to build his team.
