One Major Absentee As All Blacks Name Side For Wales Showdown

As New Zealand gear up to finish out 2017 on a high, they head for Cardiff to take on Wales. In all, it’s been a year of more us than downs. The All Blacks failed to claim a series win over the Lions, but secured the Rugby Championship title with ease, recording six wins. A shock loss to Australia followed, but they have taken Europe by storm with three wins from three so far.

As Steve Hansen prepares for their final test of 2017, he has named his side and there is one high profile omission.

Captain Kieran Read is not in the squad due to injury. Read has been replaced by Luke Whitelock.

Sam Whitelock skippers the side for the first time.
