I have been a keen rugby player and supporter for as long as I can remember, playing for my school and a local club in York throughout my teenage years. After starting a degree in Ancient History at Cardiff University (admittedly almost entirely for the Principality Stadium) I immediately joined my departments intramural rugby team. I was selected as captain for this team in my second year and then chairman in my (current) third year. I not only enjoy playing and watching rugby but also documenting it: I enjoy being the team photographer when I'm not on the pitch as well as writing match reports afterwards. I am planning on staying at Cardiff University to do a masters in broadcast journalism once I graduate at the end of this academic year, with the idea of a career in the media industry, preferably as a presenter. In order to learn about this profession I am a regular contributor to the Cardiff Uni student media TV station and I am in the processes of writing a documentary which I will be presenting with filming starting over the Christmas break.

  • Michael Corry

I am a sports enthusiast who watches, writes and talks about a lot of different sports. Firstly, my main passion would be Gaelic Games, I have grown up with them my whole life, played them and write about them. MMA is another sport I am addicted too, I have been following all things MMA related since around 2006 so long before Conor McGregor came and ushered in a lot of so called 'fans' I come from a martial arts family and have practiced in JKD over the years so this is where my love of the sport comes from. I am a McGregor fan, but a realistic one at that, he doesn't even crack the top 5 UFC fighters of all time. I attend a lot of Rugby games also and recently had a feature article about Women's rugby published in the match day programme for Leinster v Munster at the Aviva Stadium. Growing up my whole life I always played soccer, primarily as a goalkeeper. I never supported a team though, the way I seen it was no team made me feel the way Armagh GAA and my club Clann Eireann did therefore I couldn't back anybody. In my opinion this has made for great writing, as I am totally unbiased unlike most others, I know the game inside out, maybe I do harbour a bit of hate towards the money side of the gamee, but can you really blame me? I am an aspiring Journalist currently studying for my Masters at DCU. Very driven and determined to take advantage of my skills and previous experience working for the BBC (before opting to travel the world) in order to make a life for myself in Dublin working within the media. My main passion in life is following sports, playing sports, listenoing to podcasts and writing. I love the odd pint too! I love making people laugh and having fun, because we all need to be a 'silly geese' from time to time.
