Thomas Barr took home bronze in Berlin today, doing a fantastic job in the 400m hurdle to get Ireland on the podium.
Taking to the 400m hurdles in today’s European Championship final in Berlin, Barr managed to come through with a fantastic run, his best of the summer – coming in at third-place.
Facing some of the world’s most elite athletes such as Norway’s Karsten Warlhom and Turkey’s Yasmani Copello, the 26-year-old managed to put on an excellent display, finishing strong to get Ireland on the podium.
It was only the sixth ever Bronze medal for an Irish athlete at the European Championships and despite being doubted by many ahead of today’s race, he managed to put on a memorable showing.
