Leon Reid wasn’t thrilled with himself after his 200m finals performance but still managed to do the Irish proud in a very high-quality race.
Reid made his first bow as a member of Team Ireland last night with a fantastic showing yesterday to claim second place and with that, a spot in today’s final.
Clocking in with a score of 20.38, he entered the finals as the sixth fastest athlete
Born in Bath, England, Reid’s transfer to Team Ireland took a bit longer than he would have hoped but he most certainly did not disappoint in his first outing in green.

In today’s 200m finals, Reid came in at 7th place with a time of 20:37 and allowed his frustration to be known directly after – saying he didn’t ‘have the legs to finish it off’.
Overall, getting to the finals was fantastic in itself but he still couldn’t help but feel as though he could have done better under different circumstances – feeling as though he didn’t ‘have that kick’ that he usually does.
He clearly has a massive future in the sport, though, make no mistake.
