There Have Already Been Three Absurd Callouts For The Mayweather Vs McGregor Undercard

It’s been less than a week since Conor McGregor vs Floyd Mayweather was officially confirmed and there have already been some absolutely ludicrous suggestions for the August 26th undercard…

For the majority of boxing purists, Conor McGregor vs Floyd Mayweather is a circus of a fight that should not be taken seriously. However, for the casual fan, it is a fight of huge intrigue and one that is odds on to break the all-time record for pay-per-view buys.

Conor McGregor certainly wants the fight to be taken seriously and both he and his teammates are telling anyone who will listen that Floyd is going to be knocked out cold on the 26th of August.

Whether you believe that or not is up to you. However, some ludicrous callouts for the undercard of ‘The Billion Dollar Fight’ certainly aren’t doing the Irishman any favours with each suggestion reminding everyone of what a ridiculous mismatch Mayweather vs McGregor is likely to be.

For those of you who don’t know who Don Frye is, he is a retired 51-year-old mixed martial artist with a record of 20-9-1. Frye is perhaps most famous for one of the most brutal MMA bouts of all time when himself and Yoshihiro Takayama pounded the life out of each other with little to no regard for actual boxing technique or skill.

If that wasn’t bad enough, next up for an even more absurd suggestion for the T-Mobile undercard is the always infuriating Dillon Danis.

It’s hard to really capture the stupidity of this tweet in words but, in an attempt to sum it up, let’s just say that not only has Danis never competed in a professional boxing match, he has never thrown a single strike in a professional bout of any sort in his entire life.

Danis is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu champion who has recently signed with Bellator but is yet to even make his MMA debut. Amir Khan is Amir Khan.

Moving swiftly along…

Perhaps the least ridiculous callout of the three (which is saying a lot) is UFC Heavyweight Champion Stipe Miocic’s callout of Anthony Joshua.

Miocic is one of the most impressive heavyweights in the history of the UFC and his suggested bout is perhaps the most comparable with the crossover bout that will actually headline the event.

However, while Conor McGregor has a slight chance of going the distance against Floyd Mayweather, Stipe would undoubtedly be knocked into next week by the power of Anthony Joshua in the very first round.

Also, McGregor is a global superstar while Miocic is, well, Joshua’s response to the callout said it all…
