Watch: When Nick Threw In The Towel To Protect His Brother Nate Diaz

Earlier this month, Dana White spoke about the Diaz brothers’ prolonged absence from the Octagon explaining that, at this point in time, they are the most difficult fighters to get inside the cage.

The UFC President confirmed that he had offered two fights to Nick Diaz recently while also announcing that he was waiting to hear back from Nate regarding a proposed bout.

The younger Diaz brother was unfortunately quick to shut down that offer on Twitter however, laughing at Dana White’s proposal on social media.

For fans however, it was no laughing matter as MMA enthusiasts around the world eagerly anticipate the return of two of the UFC’s most intriguing personalities.

The Diaz brothers are known for their granite chins, however there was one incident wherein Nate was finished by strikes. Taking on Josh Thomson at UFC on Fox 7 in San Jose, Nate took clean shin to the head that wobbled him before a number of follow up strikes sent him to the canvas.

Although Nate did not lose consciousness at any point, it was clear that the Stockton brawler was finished and, just as the referee decided to step in and stop the contest, Nate’s brother hurled a towel into the cage in an attempt to protect his younger sibling from taking any further damage.
