Having just won the bantamweight title at UFC 207, Cody Garbrandt has already begun to talk up the possibility of a catch-weight fight with Conor McGregor.
12 months ago, Cody Garbrandt was a relatively small name on the UFC scene. However, after an extraordinary performance against Dominick Cruz at UFC 207, the 25-year-old ensured fans will remember his name going forward.
Garbrandt not only won against the much revered Cruz, but he did so with such style and personality that MMA fans were left in disbelief. Knocking the former champion to the ground on several occasions, the Team Alpha Male star chose to pose and laugh at his opponent rather than pounce and finish him.
Given the fact that McGregor and Garbrandt are now both champions, it seems appropriate to look back on, what was one of the most intriguing moments in the Irishman’s season as a coach on the Ultimate Fighter.
Having challenged Urijah Faber on the then developing situation surrounding former Team Alpha Male member, TJ Dillashaw, Garbrandt took particular offence and did not hesitate to get physical with the Irishman.
