As Conor McGregor was preparing for his bout with Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205, a vicious rumour swept across the internet claiming that the Irishman had been ‘knocked out cold’ in sparring.
Just a few months ago, Twitter user ‘Dizz’ was building a very solid reputation as one of the most reliable sources for MMA news online. The unattached reporter had been the first to announce that the Conor McGregor & Eddie Alvarez bout was confirmed for UFC 205 and he had also broken a number of other significant stories before they had reached the main stream media.
However, his false report on Conor McGregor’s KO in sparring exposed the fact that Dizz was simply getting his news from people sending him direct messages on Twitter and ever since, many users have been constantly trying to get him to report on fake stories.

This week, Dizz was once again caught out after he reported that Holly Holm was struggling with an injury and was a doubt for UFC 208’s main event. However, another Twitter user has since admitted that she intentionally fed the insider misinformation to see if he would share with his followers.
Although Dizz did in fact report the information as a rumour rather than fact, he is still taking quite a bit of stick online after the conversation which led to his announcement was posted on Twitter.
