Joe Rogan and Brendan Schaub both think that there is next to no chance that we will ever see Georges St-Pierre and Robert Whittaker facing off in the Octagon.
After Georges St-Pierre claimed the UFC’s middleweight title at Madison Square Garden last weekend, Dana White announced that the Canadian would be taking on Robert Whittaker in his next fight.
The Australian claimed the interim middleweight title at UFC 213 after defeating Yoel Romero via unanimous decision. However, with Georges St-Pierre and Michael Bisping already booked for their showdown at UFC 217, Whittaker has been forced to wait for his shot at the undisputed crown.
However, it now looks like the interim champion may well be automatically crowned as the 185 lbs king with many fans and pundits feeling that GSP has no interest in remaining in the middleweight division.
Speaking about the Canadian’s performance in Madison Square Garden, Joe Rogan and Brendan Schaub both stated that St-Pierre will undoubtedly drop down to the division where he first made his name (170 lbs) and take on Tyron Woodley in his next bout, vacating the middleweight title in the process.
‘You’re crazy if you think he’s going to fight again at 185. That ain’t happening. I promise you that’s not happening.’
