The Incredible UFC 219 Card That Conor McGregor May Very Well Be Headlining

An announcement regarding the UFC 219 main event is expected in the coming week…

Despite the fact that UFC 219 is now just over eight weeks away, Dana White only recently stated that the promotion is deadset on Conor McGregor headlining the end of year event.

‘We are planning on it [Conor headlining UFC 219]. He wants to and we want him to so, we’ll see what happens.’

McGregor recently stated that he would have to be a co-promoter if he was to step foot back in the Octagon and, although the request seemed somewhat farfetched, Dana White wasn’t in anyway fazed by it stating that he had always found a middle ground with the Irishman and that he would do so again.

‘Look, the kid wants some money, the kid wants some stuff but if there’s anybody out there who’s worth it, it’s Conor McGregor. We’ve always figured it out with him and we’ll figure it out again.’

If McGregor’s demands can be as easily overcome as the UFC President has suggested, then we may very well see a fight announcement coming this week that would see the lightweight champion headlining UFC 219 on December 30th.

If that should be the case, then the card will undoubtedly turn out to be the biggest UFC event of the year with names such as Khabib Nurmagomedov, Dominick Cruz and Carlos Condit already set to feature in mouthwatering match ups.

With regard to the main event slot, there now seems to be only two potential bouts that could top the billing; Conor McGregor vs Tony Ferguson and Cris Cyborg vs Holly Holm. Whatever the case, we shouldn’t have to wait too much longer before a main event is confirmed.
