Artem Lobov has been linked to an absolutely crucial matchup with the former bantamweight Alex Caceres at UFC London in March.
Artem Lobov’s time in the public eye could be split into two sections. At first, we saw him at his thunderous best while competing in the Ultimate Fighter as he knocked out his three opponents with relative ease before being dominated in the finale by the jiu-jitsu wiz Ryan Hall.
Since then, Lobov has gone 2-3 in the UFC, with each one of his fights having done the distance – despite his proven record as a knockout artist in the past. For those who support him due to his connections to both SBG Ireland and its star man Conor McGregor, it has been frustrating at times to see him underachieving, especially when he has proven himself to be a more-than-capable, albeit ever-so-slightly one-dimensional fighter on his day.
Now, with his current form in mind, you’d have to assume that Lobov’s next matchup could dictate whether or not he stays in the UFC and according to theMacLife.com, he’s being matched up against another fighter who, like him, will possibly see his UFC career come to an end if he doesn’t find a change in form.
Alex Caceres, despite being just 29 years of age, is an 18-fight veteran in the UFC but after going 4-6 in his last ten could well find himself in trouble if he falls at the hands of ‘the Russian Hammer’.
UFC London has been pointed to as the most likely spot for the matchup and with such a close proximity to Dublin, expect a solid showing from the Irish support even if this fight doesn’t appear on the card. Either way, it could well be the most important fight of Artem’s career to date and one that could well be a crucial one with an eye on his immediate future.
