Following Gunnar Nelson’s unfortunate pull-out from UFC Liverpool’s co-main event, debutant Craig White will step up and face Neil Magny on the main-card.
When it emerged that SBG Ireland’s grappling phenom Gunnar Nelson would be unable to compete at this month’s UFC Liverpool due to the injury, one of the main responses from the European MMA community was to wonder at who exactly would face his originally scheduled opponent, Neil Magny, in his place.
Magny’s last outing saw him defeat the returning Carlos Condit in impressive fashion and with a matchup against Nelson, the UFC were obviously hoping that one of them would be able to single themselves out as a true challenger to the top-5 spots.
Unfortunately, things didn’t play out like that and now, Craig White will get the opportunity to take home an upset for the ages against a crowd of his countrymen.

White brings four-fight win-streak over to the UFC from his home in Cage Warriors and is a proven finisher at 170lbs. Whether he can take out a fighter of Magny’s calibre, remains to be seen.
