The UFC’s biggest star has fired back at Floyd Mayweather’s admittedly late dig at his alleged troubles with members of an Irish cartel.
Over four months have passed and these two still can’t keep from attacking each other.
August’s boxing matchup between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor was among the most lucrative combat sports events of all time but despite the fact that the world – for the most part – has moved on from what was a near-unavoidable spectacle, both of the men involved have not refrained from firing shots at each other wherever possible.
Weeks after the emergence of rumours tying McGregor to some apparent trouble with an Irish, Dublin-based gang, the legendary Mayweather made a rather late dig at the UFC’s lightweight champ, no doubt in an attempt to get a rise out of both him and his loyal fanbase.
I already fucked you up in 2017 now they about to fuck you up in 2018. You’re about to start your new year off with a bang 🔪🔨⛏💣⚰️ pic.twitter.com/upaRfLbgvJ

Just over an hour later, the ‘Notorious’ one responded to the dig with the kind of swagger we’ve come to expect from him in recent years. It was short and simple but it will no doubt be interesting to see how Floyd responds, if he does, in fact, choose to do so.
I am the cartel.
