SBG Ireland’s unbeaten prospect James Gallagher has been to forced to withdraw from his Dublin showdown with Jeremiah Labiano next month.
Injuries are an unfortunate thing to happen at any level but for young James Gallagher – who was set to headline a homecoming show in Ireland’s capital city – this injury must be a tough pill to swallow.
Unbeaten after seven professional fights and fresh off of a highly impressive Bellator 180 victory over Chinzo Machida, Gallagher’s stock is at an all-time high.
His ever-improved striking and slick grappling saw him dominate the martial arts veteran on what was the biggest stage of his young career but now, at the age of 20, the ‘Strabanimal’ was forced to pull out of what could well have been an even greater step.
MMAFighting’s Ariel Helwani reported the news and furthermore, claimed that Gallagher could be on the sidelines for about 6-8 weeks.

AJ McKee, a known rival of Gallagher’s has been promoted to the top slot on the night and since the pair have publicly feuded in the past, it may be a case of unwittingly adding insult to injury.
It’s a minor setback in the promising career of the Strabane-native and surely, if all goes well, it won’t be too long until we get to see James as the top-billing on a hometown event.
