The Draws For The Fitzgibbon And Sigerson Cups Have Been Made

The draws have been made for the 2018 Fitzgibbon and Sigerson Cup competitions for next season with some intriguing clashes in store.

St Mary’s College are defending Sigerson Cup champions and they take on the University of Ulster, Jordanstown in the first round.

The premier higher level education football competition is played on a straight knock-out basis with ten of the best college and university teams competing.

There are two preliminary rounds as Athlone IT face the Garda College, while Trinity take on Dundalk IT for a spot in the quarter-finals.

In the Fitzgibbon Cup, there is a round robin competition to determine the top hurling college in the country.

There are three groups of three while group four has four teams with the competition progressing to quarter-finals.

Defending champions Mary I are in the group with four teams as they will play Carlow IT, NUI, Galway and Trinity.

There is a fascinating all-Cork clash in group 1 as UCC will face CIT. UCD are also in that group.
