Finding new and inventive ways to unveil players has become the story of the summer, with clubs scrambling to stand out from what is becoming a bit of a crowd.
WhatsApp, Snapchat and FIFA have been utilised to varying degrees of success to announce player signings, and for Roma’s latest effort they have taken aim at the popular Youtube player skills compilation.
Those particular videos have become a go-to for many fans looking at potential signings for their clubs, keen to learn as much as possible about their new players and get a sense of what they can bring.
Of course, an altogether too frequent staple of these videos are dubious graphics and generally heinous Euro-techno music, which of course Roma have parodied superbly to announce the signing of forward Cengiz Under.

Not everyone appears to have quite got the joke, however, and Roma themselves have been retweeting the more confused reactions to the video:
Horrible video and music

Cengiz – and this seems pretty secondary to the video now – has recently signed for the Giallorossi from Istanbul Başakşehir in a €14m deal, a move designed to help fill the gap left by Mohamed Salah’s £37m move to Liverpool.
