Corkman Alan Browne Scoops Multiple Awards For Preston After Great Season

Preston North End and Alan Browne did everything possible on the final day of the Championship season to secure a playoff spot in order to gain promotion to the Premier League.

They scored a stoppage-time winner through Louis Moult to secure a 2-1 win over Burton Albion but unfortunately, it wasn’t enough as Derby County’s 4-1 thrashing of Barnsley meant that Preston missed out on a playoff spot by two points.

Many Republic of Ireland supporters have been keeping a close eye on the fortunes of the English club due to the significant number of Irish players plying their trade at Deepdale.

One player who has helped Preston to almost securing a playoff spot is 23-year-old Corkman Browne. The Republic of Ireland international has scooped a whole host of end-of-season awards at the club due to his excellent contribution this season.

The club announced the winners of the various accolades via its Twitter account this afternoon and first up for Browne was winning the Goal Of The Season award.

Then it was the Players’ Player Of The Year…

And finally, the Sir Tom Finney Player of the Year award…

Here is his goal against Cardiff City if you need a reminder.
