Tottenham Hotspur have been suspiciously quiet in the transfer window thus far and remain just one of two clubs in the Premier League not to have made a single signing.
However, that looks likely to change in the coming days as they edge nearer to completing a deal for Ajax centre-back Davinson Sanchez. The Colombian has now been revealed to not be the only man on Spurs’ wish list.
According to the hugely reliable journalist, Mohamed Bouhafsi of French publication RMC, the North London club recently submitted a bid for somewhat out-of-favour Manchester United attacker Anthony Martial. The Reds subsequently rejected the approach.

It’s worth noting that Bouhafsi broke the news back in 2015 that Martial would be joining United in the first place.
Despite his prodigious talents and stunning first season, Jose Mourinho has never been particularly impressed with the Frenchman and played no part in his side’s defeat to Real Madrid in the UEFA Super Cup last week.
Last season, Jesse Lingard and Marcus Rashford were preferred to the former Monaco starlet more often than not. In total, he started just 18 league games but did manage to grab four goals and six assists in that time.
There’s no word yet as to how much the bid was or whether or not Mauricio Pochettino’s side will return with another attempt to get their man.
