Barely Believable Stat Illustrates Just How Talented Jose Mourinho Is As A Manager

From his humble beginnings, starting out as an interpreter for Bobby Robson at Sporting Lisbon, Jose Mourinho has since grown into one of the most well-respected managers of his generation.

Learning more and more about the game during his stints as an assistant at Porto, Barcelona and Benfica in the 1990s and early 2000s, the 54-year-old would eventually stand on his own two feet as manager with Benfica before truly announcing himself to the world after winning the Champions League with Porto in 2004.

He has followed up this milestone triumph with success everywhere has been since from Chelsea to Real Madrid.

Since taking over at Manchester United he has won the EFL Cup as well as the Europa League and has started this season in flying form too with his side having scored 16 goals already and conceded just two as they sit joint-top of the table with Manchester City.

Consistency has been a cornerstone of Mourinho’s success wherever he has been, and while anyone with a passing interest in football knows of his renowned win-at-all-costs mentality it is still barely believable that in 17 seasons of top level management Mourinho can boast a statistic such as the one below.

His side’s 4-0 victory over Everton on Sunday keeps this record going and with the majority of United’s Premier League games this season set to take place on Saturdays as opposed to Sundays due to the Old Trafford club’s involvement in the Champions League, one would expect this record to continue for a while yet.

United return to action on Wednesday night as they host Burton Albion in the Carabao Cup before travelling to take on Southampton next weekend.
