In recent years Chelsea have become famous for the volume of players they send out on loan.
The Stamford Bridge club have become something of a monopoly club when it comes to signing promising young players. However, many of these young players end up out the exit door before they break into the first team.
We look at a starting XI of players currently out on loan from their parent club Chelsea.
The players listed are only a few of many.
Goalkeeper: Jamal Blackman (on loan at Sheffield United)
Blackman famously on the bench for Chelsea’s 2012 Champions League win against Bayern Munich. Now on his fourth loan spell with high-flying Sheffield United in the Championship.
Defender: Tomas Kalas (on loan at Fulham)
Czech defender Kalas has been with Chelsea for seven years and only has two appearances to his name. A fantastic defender that stood out on loan at Middlesbrough in the Championship in 2015/16.
Defender: Kurt Zouma (on loan at Stoke City)
Zouma joined the club from St. Etienne in 2014 and has made 47 appearances for the club. Currently on loan at fellow Premier League side Stoke City.
Defender: Kenneth Omerua (on loan at Kasimpasa)
The 23-year-old came up through the youth side at Chelsea but has yet to make a first team appearance for the Londoners. He has 31 caps for Nigeria despite spending his entire senior career on loan.
Defender: Matt Miazga (on loan at Vitesse)
Miazga arrived at Stamford Bridge as one of North America’s highest-rated defenders. The 22-year-old made two first team appearances for the Blues but is now at sister club Vitesse for the foreseeable future.
Midfielder: Nathan (on loan at Amiens)
Once a wonderkid at Paranaense, he’s now another Chelsea loanee. Another to be farmed out to Vitesse but currently based in France with Amiens.
Midfielder: Mario Pasalic (on loan at Spartak Moscow)
The 22-year-old was another to join Chelsea after excelling as a youngster with Hajduk Split’s first team. He has had high profile loans to Monaco and Milan yet made zero appearances at Stamford Bridge.
Midfielder: Marco van Ginkel (on loan at PSV)
One of the few in this side to have appeared already for Chelsea having joined from Vitesse. Already has seven Dutch caps and formed a decent partnership with Glenn Whelan while at Stoke.
Midfielder: Ruben Loftus-Cheek (on loan at Crystal Palace)
Loftus-Cheek is has perhaps been overhyped by the British media but he’s certainly a joy to watch at times. The 21-year-old managed 22 appearances for Chelsea but was quickly offloaded to Crystal Palace once he got some momentum going.
Midfielder: Lucas Piazon (on loan at Fulham)
A player that lit up Chelsea’s underage sides after his arrival from Brazil. On his fifth loan spell without a first team appearance for Chelsea.
Striker: Tammy Abraham (on loan at Swansea)
Still only 20, Abraham hit 23 goals in the Championship last season at Bristol City. Looks a real prospect and his loan move to Swansea could be the next step to the first team.
Ola Aina (Hull): Full Nigerian international.
Michael Hector (Hull): Full Jamaican international.
Lewis Baker (Middlesbrough): Over 80 loan appearances away from Chelsea.
Kasey Palmer (Huddersfield): Stared for the Terriers as they won promotion to the Premier League.
Izzy Brown (Brighton): Another key cog for Huddersfield last season.
