Angel Gomes became the youngest player in the history of the club to win the Jimmy Murphy Youth Team Player of the year award on Thursday evening and now, things are set to get far better for the 16-year-old.
Having claimed the prestigious Jimmy Murphy award this week, Angel Gomes trained with Manchester United’s first team on Friday and, speaking in his press conference ahead of the Red Devils clash with Crystal Palace this weekend, Mourinho confirmed that the youngster will play a part in United’s final league fixture.
Gomes has scored a hugely impressive 12 goals in 19 starts for the academy side this season and is capable of operating in the pocket behind the striker or on either wing.

It’s unknown as of yet whether Gomes will start or come from the bench on Sunday but, with the list of the youngest players in the history of the club including names such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Marcus Rashford and Ryan Giggs, United fans will surely be excited to see what the youngster does with his opportunity this weekend.
