Dele Alli has given Tottenham Hotspur a surprise lead over Champions League-holders Real Madrid.

Tottenham have gone one up!

Dele Alli opened the scoring with his sixth goal of the season as Spurs managed to pull ahead of the heavily-favoured Real Madrid in their crucial Group H encounter.

The English international latched on a pinpoint cross from Kieran Trippier about 27 minutes into the first half to slot past the helpless Casilla in the Madrid goals.

There was a pretty understandable shout for offside given the position of Trippier who played the ball in but alas, it wasn’t given and to the delight of the Spurs faithful, the goal stood.

A win over Real would allow Tottenham to maintain their lead atop the group and for Madrid, would top off what has already been a pretty poor week by their very high standards.
