Arsenals horrid time away from home this year continued today at St. James’ Park where Newcastle were able to come away with a 2-1 win.
Five away fixtures so far in this calendar year for the Gunners and not a single point registered.
Arsenal’s away form has hit a new low in 2018 and today at St. James’ Park, they lost out to tenth-placed Newcastle after going ahead early in the first-half. Alexandre Lacazette was able to latch onto a beautiful Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang cross to fire home before Ayoze Perez levelled it up before the break.
With things all-square, it was Matt Ritchie who won it for the Magpies in the second-half, taking three points for his side in front of their home fans and with that, they allowed Arsenal to continue their dreadful form on the road.
Here are some of the best reactions from Twitter after the game:
Full Time: Newcastle 2-1 Arsenal – Wenger's side haven't won a single point away from home in 2018. 13 points behind Spurs. Worse away record than Palace, Watford, Bournemouth, Newcastle and Burnley. As expected, #afc reliant on winning Europa League to secure CL qualification.

Stay strong Arsenal fans. Still feel you’re capable of finishing above Burnley.

We're the only club in England's top five divisions without an away point in 2018.
The Arsenal banter era ended a long time ago. This is the depression era.

Still the ONLY TEAM in the TOP 4 LEAGUES in England to have got ZERO POINTS away from home in 2018. Same old arsenal ??

Bantering Arsenal is basically redundant at this point tbh.

No manager in the Premier League could have done what Rafa Benitez is doing. He is keeping Newcastle in the league with average footballers and hardly any money spent.

That is my Newcastle United and I couldn’t be more proud ?

Poor. Weak. Spineless. Lacking tactical coherence and leadership. When you play Newcastle at St James’ Park you need to be strong. Yet again Arsenal have been found wanting on so many levels. Very disappointing. Performances such as this are why Arsene Wenger has to go

Away defeats to Swansea, Bournemouth, Brighton and Newcastle in the space of 3 months is shocking. Impossible to excuse.

Rafa Benitez, with a shoestring budget – if not worse – and a squad that consist of almost Championship players (no disrespect), has done a fab job at Newcastle.
Hope he gets the backing he needs this summer to get the right players so as to take Newcastle to the next level.

Brilliant match at St James Park between Newcastle and Arsenal. Say what you like, but even the mid table matches are great in the Premier League.
