Fresh from their remarkable win over Wales in Cardiff on Monday, Ireland are preparing themselves for a playoff against one of Italy, Croatia, Switzerland and Denmark. The Boys in Green are dreaming of a summer in Russia, but one more step lies between themselves and the World Cup.
The draw is taking place next Tuesday at 1pm, with the dates also being announced then.
The home leg at the Aviva Stadium is likely to be the hottest ticket in town, as the entire country gets behind Martin O’Neill’s side after the momentum built up throughout their Group D campaign, and particularly over the last week.
