Watch: Patrice Evra Kicks His Own Fan In The Head During Wild Scenes

Patrice Evra may find himself in hot water following a wild incident involving himself and a fan before kick off in tonight’s Europa League tie between Marseille and Vitoria.

To make matters worse, it was a fan of his own team.

Evra has been plying his trade with Marseille since January 2017 having signed from Juventus.

Marseille travelled to Portugal to take on Vitoria in their Europa League group tonight but before the game had even begun, controversy marred the evening.

Evra was named as a substitute for the Ligue 1 side and was reportedly subject to heckling and insults from sections of his own fans behind the goals. As seen in the clip below, the travelling support were certainly making themselves heard and seen before kick off.

Things turned ugly when Evra confronted a number of fans who had managed to make their way down to pitchside during his side’s warm-up.

See for yourself in the tweets below which appear to capture Evra lashing out at a fan.

While there is sure to be more details emerge about this wild scenario, it would appear that the former Manchester United left-back will face a sanction for his actions. The referee showed Evra a red card before the game got underway for his alleged karate style kick, meaning Marseille would be with only six subs on the night instead of the usual seven as the Frenchman had been selected to start the game from the bench.

The fixture went ahead as scheduled despite the ugly scenes.
